Question and how to respond and why they ask these questions:
(also questions you shouldn't really ask about love)
For these questions I had my friends answer; SO that they are not what internet, news, media or what the world/dictionary says. These are all direct quotes(aside from some spelling error fixes)
#1 What is love to you?
"Love to me is when you would do anything in the world for them; even risk you life and when you just hear there voice or someone say there name you get this feeling and a huge smile and you just feel a connection with them when ever you kiss or anything; its really hard to explain what love is you just know when that time comes."-L
"Love, it is an amazing feeling. It's when you get butterflies in your stomach, even when you're use to the person; When you kiss them and STILL feel those feelings after that, you just know."-L
" Love is caring more for someone else than you."-Sabri
"Love is when you are excepted for who you are no matter what."-T
"Love to me is understanding and accepting each other for who you are, flaws and all, Being comfortable with each other so that you can try new things and not be afraid to experience life together. Also, trusting someone emotionally and physically.Being completely happy whenever you're with that person even if other things in life aren't going well."-Cat
"To me, love is the most extreme emotion/feeling towards another person. A lot of people throw around the word way too easily when it should really take a lot to love someone. Love is when you can know absolutely everything to know about a person and still be intrigued by them and want to spend all your time with them. Love is when you can be so mad at a person but still for some reason can't wait to see them again. Love is when you miss a person from the second they leave. Not only with Significant others, but even more importantly (to me) with close friends. True love in unconditional."-kirst
"To me, love is a feeling unlike any other one of which you feel completely wanted and feel you belong by your partner regardless of your flaws and mistakes."-Jac
"Love is a strong feeling toward the opposite sex, including [the] time [getting] to know one Another and whether or not. You just feel it!"-R

"Love is everything? Happiness, Love is Security."-Jes
"Love is an adventure. Its a lens to view the world in, just like hatred is. Its more than just a feeling or a concept. Its a binding of the universe, the positive ions. But its also an illusion, a chemical experiment gone terribly right in the brains of only us humans. In other words, love is love. Its everything and nothing."-Jandi
#2 What's parental love to you?(Meaning in two ways.., How do you feel love from your parents verses the love you feel from a partner?)
"Parental love is biological, programmed into us. It lies within our blood, muscles, and tissues until we witness our child's first breath, then its activated for life. The urge to protect, nurture, love, and adore."-JA
"Your parents always being there to help you back up in life when you fall."-T
"Parental love I think is mainly support of your childs dreams - letting them be who they want to - merely guiding them along the path - not taking their wheel and steering - when they needs help - you give it - but allowing them to live their life themselves"-sab
"Parental love to me is when a parent accepts who you become as you grow up and being there for you whenever you need them. Making sure you are safe."-Cat

"How You can tell that your parents love you?- Mom loves me too much, she constantly takes interest in me so that's how I know she does. Dad is harder to read, but he has silly moments whee he wants to hang out with me that let's me know he loves me, plus he constantly bugs me about my future"-Jes
"Parent loves you like a child, to only get you through to your adult life.A partner wants to love you emotionally and sexually, but also be there for you!!"-R

Love for your partner is like god I love you.. I wanna be with you forever.. and spent every moment together and you hate being apart; that's my difference"-R
"Parental Love is alot of the same but also very different. I grew up in a home with 2 parents but only one that showed love to my siblings and I. Most important to me, is that parents always put their children first, nothing should come before your kids. I think Discipline is also a huge part of parental love because in most cases, it's our parents way of preparing us for the future and making sure we're the best we can be. "- Kirst
#3 Why would you ask your partner if they loved you?
"Would only ask if they were acting like I didn't love them anymore.-Jes
"I think its because we need to be assured - to know that they feel the same way about you."-sab
"I don't ask"- B

"Don't, I don't ask, I just make the statement and the reply is 'yes i know that'"-B
"To make sure they know you love them with out a doubt!-R
"To let them no you really do care for them"-L
"I rarely say that, but when i do it's usually because he's either bummed about something or we're arguing. Almost always because we're arguing. I think it's important in that situation to say something like that because it's kind of saying "I know i act like i hate you but whatever we're arguing about really isn't that important" and usually when one of us says that things settle down a little and we're able to talk like adults about whatever the problem is."-kirst
"We all want to know that our feelings are reciprocated, "returned". We need feedback just as any other emotion, when angry at someone we want to know that they regret their choice. When in love, we want to know that we are loved. Too often the diagnosis of a failed relationship is that one loves too much, the other not enough."

"Because they or yourself feels like you're uncertain or scared and its something you need to ask and have answered." -jac
"I think when people ask that it's a sign of insecurity. Some people feel the need to know what other people see in them because they don't see much in themselves and need that reassurance. I personally think a lot of people "fall in love" for just that reason. The feeling of being loved. I don't think you can honestly be in love with someone else until you truly love yourself."-kir
"Sometimes its an ego booster, people often like to know what makes them "marketable", so that they can use it to their advantage. Others just use it as a way to know how much they and their qualities are appreciated by their lover."- JA

Love someone is the feeling you have for your family and friends"- T

If you're lucky - Love is what's left after that crazed feeling is gone. Or if you're insanely lucky - you have both at the same time. Love is knowing the person beneath the body - the mind - the heart - the likes and dislikes of that person - and loving them anyway - unconditionally."-sab
"Being in love is male female love, love can be for friends family God!"-R
"Loving someone is more common that being in love with someone. I think you can love a lot of people at once, but only be in love with just one. There are so many different kinds of love, parents, friends, significant others and whoever else; but Being in love is more to do with just a significant other. "The difference between being in love and loving someone is that when you're in love, the feelings are mutual and its like pure bliss because it feels unreal; As to where you can love anyone for a number of different reasons and the feeling might not always be returned"-jackie (jac)
"Loving someone means that they are in your heart and you care for them, no matter their location in the world. "Don't say what it is that you think they want to hear, don't be rude, and don't speak if you're not sure."-JA
"Dont get upset with being asked "-jac

Wikipedia:
Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my husband"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.
As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love.

"yesssssss"-kirs
(repeat, but applies)"Loving someone means that they are in your heart and you care for them, no matter their location in the world. Being in love means that they are in your heart, and when their location becomes further from you, you feel emptier and emptier.Loving someone is a matter of the heart, whereas being in love is a matter for the soul."-JA"
#8 How you do respond to these questions?
"Truthfully and personally"-T
"You tell the truth plain n simple"-L
"Ponder hard.... and a close self-examination of almost what and how you value love."-sab
"I respond by personal experiences and what my idea on everything is."-Cat
"You should respond to these questions with common sense, with your heart AND your brain. But most of all, answer truthfully. Love is never pure but if you don't have honesty, you don't have a chance."-JA
#9 how shouldn't you respond?
"Don't say what it is that you think they want to hear, don't be rude, and don't speak if you're not sure."-JA
"Dont get upset with being asked "-jac
"Don't respond quickly - like I said... ponder."-sab
"You shouldn't respond if you don't believe you have experienced these things.

Tegan and Sara
Tegan and Sara are AMAZING!!:
WHY:
I've loved these girls, started liking them, heard of them, whatever in about 2003? they started making music in 1999m but I'm pretty sure I didn't hear of them yet :'[ introduced my cousin Jessica to them and from then on we have both been unmanageably addicted. They're lyrics speak. in one way or another I could always relate, could always feel what they were singing and it moved me.
Vocals: unique beyond belief. Not one band sounds like them or even could ever come close.
